In my experience the most common reason couples give to wanting to have their pictures taken of their newborn child, is that they seek to capture what they consider to be the happiest moment in their lives. This is not an exaggeration or marketing strategy to entice you, the reader, to come in for a newborn baby shoot.
Child birth, child rearing and the general hardship surrounding having children is immense. It’s only after the hard times have gone and a mother and father sit down quietly with their newborn that this ‘happiest of all’ moment comes upon them. So that is the reason behind why many have come to me for newborn baby photos, and it is a joy to hear every time.
So often with a very young baby, they’re peacefully sleeping for much of the time that they’re here in the photography studio. That’s why it’s really special when they wake up and you get to see their beautiful eyes. I often wonder what they’re thinking as they lie there gazing up at the lights and activity around them. Some look relaxed, some a little confused by it all and others find it all very funny. The expressions on these little ones’ faces really are adorable. Whatever they’re thinking about, their adorable expression and posture makes them natural subjects for newborn posing!
